After working his magic on the Amsterdam underground, DJ/Producer job sifre has claimed a
spot in the international electronic music scene. Known for his enthusiastic, happy-go-lucky
approach to DJing, job sifre has earned a reputation for making parties move. The contrast
between his playful style of mixing and the intensity of his records creates a unique blend of
seriousness and mischievousness. His roots in techno give him a steady base to operate from,
while his versatility and ability to read the crowd makes it easy for him to adapt to nights that
ask for genres like electro, industrial, breakbeat, trance, rhythmic noise (and more), but he is
also not scared to mix in a Madonna or punk record. His ultimate goal is to make people
dance and let them have fun, while simultaneously challenging them to listen to things they
never listened to before.
He’s already built up a cult following worldwide thanks to hosting a bi-monthly show on
Echobox (previously on Red Light Radio). Titled antikunst, this show revolves around a
dystopian trawl through the worlds of industrial, electro, skewed synth-pop, dreamy indie,
post-punk, experimental electronica and (downtempo) techno. He is also known for his
previous residencies at now defunct clubs like De School (Amsterdam) and BAR
(Rotterdam) and shows at renowned clubs like Berghain/Panorama Bar (Berlin), .TAG
(Chengdu), All (Shanghai), Robert Johnson and festivals like Dekmantel, Lowlands, Positive
Education and Down the Rabbit Hole.
He made his production debut on Interstellar Funk’s Artificial Dance label in the autumn of
2017 with impressive EP entitled Worries. It’s nothing less than a six-track distillation of
sifre’s many and varied influence re-shaped and re-packaged in his own distinctive style. In
the first quarter of 2018 he released his second EP at Mark van de Maat’s Knekelhuis label.
After releasing a handful of remixes and various artist contributions, job is working hard on
developing his ever-evolving sound.
